WORKSHOP- Cyanotypes on Textile

Tim HETHERINGTON is a photographer based in the Creuse region. After a career devoted to photography and its teaching, mainly in the United Kingdom but also, in his early years, in Eastern Europe, he chose to settle in the area. His early work, close to documentary photography, gradually evolved into a more illustrative approach to image-making. He is particularly interested in alternative processes, whose experimental nature he values: they require many trials, but make it possible to create unique images.

In recent years, Tim has been exploring cyanotype, a photographic printing process that produces images in cyan-blue tones. This technique was invented by John Herschel in England in 1842.

Following his exhibition at the Arboretum in 2025, Tim will lead three cyanotype workshops in 2026:

11 July, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. — paper cyanotypes
13 August, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. — glass cyanotypes
12 September, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. — cyanotypes on textile

Price: €30 per person, all materials included.
