1 August to 1 November – EXHIBITION

Nature and Calligraphy

Caroline Arnoult has made drawing her life’s work. Captivated by the treasures of nature, the artist loves to show respect for a branch, a flower, or a leaf through her botanical drawings. Everything is meticulously transcribed, and beauty is found in the smallest details that we often overlook: the attachment of a leaf to its branch, the pattern of veins in petals, the subtlety of colours.

And… inspired by the work of poets or quotes, she combines gesture with calligraphic exploration, line, and rhythm, which can easily be found in a tree, for example, to discover its development, architecture, fullness, emptiness, twists, and rhythms. « Working with a text and imagining it during my walks, then transferring it to paper, is a whole cycle of energies that respond to each other throughout the process. By introducing water, a necessary medium for ink, I allow myself to be amazed by its paths, its transformation during drying, and the influence of the paper. I love this letting go that leads me to beautiful surprises, both to share and to build myself internally. »
